Madrid, 1965. Journalist, was Editor in Chief of the weekly supplement to the El Mundo newspaper until September 2010, he now works as El Mundo correspondent in Paris . Music critique, cartoon scriptwriter, recording executive, author of travel guides, university professor, wine taster, television panel judge, congress presenter and culinary writer. In 1999 he won the Arzak Prize for Gastronomic Journalism, awarded by the Cátedra Sent Soví of the Barcelona Autonomous University and then in 2001 he was granted the National Gastronomy Prize. He is a member of the Spanish Gastronomy Academy and is vice-president of the Madrid Academy. He edited the collectable series "Las cocinas de España" [The Cuisines of Spain], "Las cocinas del mundo" [The Cuisines of the World] and "Las rutas del vino" [The Wine Routes] for the El Mundo newspaper. He was the editor of the Metrópoli guide "Comer y beber en Madrid" [Eat and Drink in Madrid]. He published in 2011, The Japanese cuisine of Kabuki (Ed. Planeta) and he's working on his first novel Memorias de un cocinero por azar [Memories of a Coincidental Chef].
