(1971) grew up in Granada and was born in Madrid, the city where he currently lives.

As storyteller, he is the author of a collection of stories Las botas de siete leguas y otras maneras de morir [Boots of seven leagues and other ways to die] (Suma de Letras, 2002) and of the novels Santo Diablo [Holy Devil] (Kailas, 2004. Puzzle, 2005) and El segundo círculo [The second circle] (Algaida, 2007). His last novel was published in 2011 in Alianza Editorial, El juego del mono [The Monkey's Game].

The following stand out among his books of poems Ella cena de día [She has dinner during the day] (2000), Calles para un pez luna [Streets for a moonfish] (Visor, 2002) for which she received the Madrid Community Young Art Prize and Cuadernos del hábito oscuro [Notebooks of the dark habit] (Candaya, 2007).

"This is literature. This is the real deal" is what Luis Mateo Díez said about her narrative.  She has written stories and articles published in magazines and literary publications.  Critics have emphasized her mix of rigor and originality.

The international literature magazine Words Without Borders chose for its April issue to translate and publish Ernesto Pérez Zúñiga's short story "Dos manzanas" [Two apples].
